The Federal College of Education, Yola in affiliation with the University of Maiduguri has matriculated 363 undergraduate students for the 2015/2016 academic session.
In his Speech at the occasion, the Vice- Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Services, Professor Aliyu Shugaba disclosed that the University of Maiduguri is ready to support the college towards introducing more degree programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor further pointed out that the university is encouraged by the efforts of the college in upgrading her physical facilities and improving her human resources capacity, thus willing to work closely with college in getting approval for more degree programmes.
Professor Njodi congratulated the new intakes and called on them to be disciplined by shunning all anti social vices as well as protecting college properties.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Provost of the College, Professor Sa’ad reiterated the commitment of the College toward expanding her facilities and training teachers that the University and the general society will be proud of.
Professor Sa’ad further solicited the support of the University and the Adamawa State government in getting accreditation for more degree programmes and the College bit to host the 2017 edition of Nigerian Colleges of Education Games Association.
The Registrar of the University of Maiduguri, represented by the Director of Senate and Academic Matters of the University, Mr. Filibus Mshelia administered the matriculating oaths of allegiances on the new students.
