The Government Secondary School Ilorin (GSS) has become a target for various kinds of animals and even robbers.
The school which was established in 1914, is one of the oldest schools in Northern Nigeria.
The school, which initially boasted of adequate facilities, has now gone downhill as ageing buildings and learning facilities remained in deplorable conditions.
Students attested to the fact that they lacked proper care while poor sanitation facilities and dilapidated buildings have created space for poisonous reptiles including snakes.
One student complained that there were rats, lizards and snakes hiding in the filthy toilets and bathrooms.
It was also revealed that despite students having to pay N56, 000 as admission fees and N30, 000 in subsequent terms. things are not as they should be.
