The victim identified as Mr. Clinton Opribo-Amos was shot dead at a hotel in the area by a group of young men suspected to be members of a secret cult.
It was gathered that Opribo-Amos, a student in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies in UNIPORT was murdered in cold blood during the Easter celebrations.
A source, who related the development stated that the hoodlums had invaded the hotel around 11pm.

The source added that when darkness overtook the environment, the assailants opened fire, shooting several times at their target.
He said, “We were just in the hotel when we noticed some boys entering. Nobody suspected anything because groove was on. Later, the generator that was used in the hotel went off. Immediately, the boys started shooting.
“The continuous shooting caused fear as some people lay down on the floor. When the shooting stopped, everybody ran away. It was later that the victim was discovered dead. Several other persons, who were also there, sustained varying degrees of injuries while they were struggling for escape.”
